Jack finds himself being held hostage while the criminals decide what to do with him, and the leader's beautiful girlfriend, Erin, is left alone to watch Jack. Erin, who we discover is a master manipulator of the men in the gang, reveals another side to Jack - a melancholy romantic who could have been a classical cellist. She finds Jack's captivity an irresistible turn-on and he can't figure out if she's for real, or manipulating him, too. Before the gang returns, Jack and Erin's connection intensifies and who ends up with the money is anyone's guess.
This movies story line is all over the map, the way the movie starts off is just goofy, i&#39;m not going to go into details but this movie is just plain ****. The acting was crappy the only thing this movie had going for it is that Samuel Jackson was in it thats it. This movie isn&#39;t worth renting, I rented it when it first came out on DVD what a waste of 4.50 this movie is someones idea of a sick joke. <br/><br/>Picture starting to watch a movie have way in, because thats what it feels like when you start watching this, They don&#39;t explain a god dam thing. This movie is about as good as being kicked in the nuts, All i can do is give you a heads up by saying this movie makes battle field earth look OK.
The diabetic and lonely detective Jack Friar (Samuel L. Jackson) has a great passion for music, playing cello as a hobby. On the day before the beginning of his vacation, when he would participate of an amateurish music festival in a camping, his neighbor asks him for a favor. She begs him to find her fifteen years old runaway daughter, who left home with her boyfriend and is living on an unknown address in Turk Street. Although upset with the request, Jack decides to search for the teenager. While investigating, he helps an old lady, who felt with her shopping in the front ladder of her house on Turk Street. She invites him for a cup of tea and he is captured by a weird gang, leaded by Tyrone (Stellan Skarsgard), a mean, intelligent and dangerous man, and composed by an old couple, Mr. &amp; Mrs Quarre; a sadistic deranged guy, Hoop (Doug Hutchison); and the gorgeous manipulative Russian piano player girlfriend of Tyrone, Erin (Milla Jovovich). The group is planning a daring robbery of a bank, with the support of the manager David, who has a crush on Erin. Jack and Erin have a kind of relationship, connected by music, in the best part of the story. &#39;The House on Turk Street&#39; is almost a good film-noir: it has beautiful atmosphere, with a stylistic but weak direction. Samuel L. Jack and Stellan Skarsgard have great performances, and Milla Javovich is very beautiful and sexy. However, there are many flaws in the screenplay and the story does not work well. Why the old lady invited Jack to come in her house? Who could believe a man would accept to be tied again with his life in danger? Who keeps the money in the end of the story? Where and when a group of criminals, having such different behaviors, some of them are almost caricatures, would gather as a teamwork for such a daring plan? Further, there is a total lack of (black) humor in some ridiculous or exaggerated situations. My vote is six.<br/><br/>Title (Brazil): &#39;Sem Risco Aparente&#39; (&#39;Without Apparent Risk&#39;)
