A civic leader with a wife & newborn child befriends a newcomer in town & helps his daughter by offering her a baby-sitting job & by getting her into gymnastics. Their friendship soon develops into a passionate love affair.
Also known as "Angel Blue" (it's released on video under that name-describing it as a "Latin Lolita" !) this was obviously made with the intention of a theatrical release. Instead it was shown on Lifetime Television minus the brief nudity and brief adult language. In any case it's lame even by TV movie standards. At one point Bottoms & Eichhorn go to his 25th high school class re-union and the music playing on the soundtrack is from the '50's (this is the late '90's so wouldn't the music be '70's? Or is music from the '50's the only music the evokes memories of high school?). Karen Black appears for about 4 minutes at the end of the film in extreme close-up as a cynical social worker. With the exception of Black, the acting is either overdone or underdone. Don't bother!

A veteran American policeman who shot five neighbours dead and wounded his police chief before killing himself today had battled the victims over a sexual-assault case involving his daughter.
He was also described as " a 100 per cent cop, and a great role model".
Armed with a SWAT-team assault weapon, Edward shot and killed neighbour Dominick Galliano, 51, who had been acquitted in January 2001 of an alleged sexual assault of Lutes' daughter.
As well he killed Galliano's wife, Gail, 49, and their son, Christopher, 25.
Lutes then went to his next-door neighbours, and in another burst of automatic weapon fire, killed Tina Williams, 46, and her husband, Gary, 48.

Both had been character witnesses for Galliano.
Lutes 42, had been a patrolman with the Seaside Heights Police Department in New Jersey on the US east coast for nearly 17 years.
"We knew he was crazy, and he said he would do this," said Lori DelValle, 27, a teacher who also testified as a character witness for Galliano.
DelValle, whose parents have a summer home next door to the Galliano home, said Lutes had gone to the Galliano home during the trial and threatened to kill them.
She said he also had put up a sign, facing the Galliano home, that said: "I'm going to get you".
However, she said that the Galliano family and other neighbours believed they could do nothing because Lutes was a police officer.
Police said they received a report complaining that Lutes had slashed a neighbour's tyre on Mischief Night last year, and DelValle said it was a tyre belonging to the Galliano family.
The killings prompted a police alert for Lutes, who also was part of the Ocean County SWAT team, and sent police scurrying to warn neighbours and other officials in nearby Seaside Heights to be on the lookout for Lutes.
Lutes by then had gone to nearby Barnegat Township, where he accosted Seaside Heights Police Chief James Costello and shot him outside his home.
Costello, who was recovering today from gunshot wounds to the leg and wrist, said that the assault case "could have very well triggered" the violence in the normally quiet, working-class neighbourhood.
Seaside Heights Fire Chief Reece Fisher, 35, said there was no indication of any trouble between Lutes and his chief. "He was a 100 per cent cop, and a great role model," Fisher said.
Chief Dan Mahony of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said he would not comment on the sexual-abuse case.
But Mahony did say last night's shootings were not random.
"There was acrimony among the neighbours," he said.
