It&#39;s almost nothing like the book, but James Dashner&#39;s goal wasn&#39;t to have Wes Ball make the movie exactly like the book. He has mentioned on multiple interviews that his main goal was to get the relationship between the characters across. So if you mainly care about seeing what plays out with the relationships between Thomas, Teresa, Brenda, Newt, and Minho then this movie will be great.<br/><br/>If you couldn&#39;t care less about the relationship between the characters and haven&#39;t see the first two movies, then this movie will be terrible. It mainly just wraps up what has happened in the first two movies and does not really have a story plot of its own. I think it would&#39;ve made a way better tv show on Netflix.
Classic milking the old cash cow. I forgot how long this movie is because I half slepth through most of it, it has a mess of a plot and you wont love or care about any of the characters.
The script is just so-so, but Ball’s directorial eye, clear in the first “Maze Runner” film though largely AWOL in the second, saves the third and final adventure from its own bloat.
