Then more stories and a list of ten ideas.Pros: If youre feeling like a rotten mother and need some assurance, this book may be a comfort. A few of the ideas in the book were new, and it was an easy read.Cons:I felt like there was a lot of fluff and not as much practical help as I expected - and 95% of the practical part I had heard before. Some of the points she brings up that you think are really going to teach you something she ends up making irrelevant, which I found frustrating. I grew tiresome of her stories about kid mishaps. She was working too hard to show how normal of a mom she is and make us feel better about ourselves. Personally I want to hear stories that inspire not give me an ego boost. I was also looking forward to info about introducing a second child in the mix, and the most practical info she gives there is a list of pregnancy symptoms. Seriously? I think if we already have a toddler its quite possible we already know what happens when we get pregnant.Summary: If you never read anything on parenting and had no older women to guide you and really just need some encouragement, this may be a good book for you. I had high hopes for this book. If youre like me and read a lot and are looking for a practical handbook for creative and biblical discipline, this is not the book for you. (And if you know of such a book please let me know!)
