I am not real happy with the direction this comic is heading. There is no real story, the characters are boring, and this issue consisted of randomness and cheap ploys. For example, the first page shows Harley embracing the Prince of Crime himself as we remember him pre-face replacement, but dont be fooled it is merely a wax figure. And then they bring in Poison Ivy for no apparent reason whatsoever other than people love her and then they can draw a sleepover panty scene.The characterization of Poison Ivy made me a little sick to my stomach to be honest. She was portrayed as a rainbow and butterflies valley girl instead of the smart, sexy, temptress with a harsh exterior. I enjoyed the Ivy/Harley dynamic in Gotham City Sirens, Volume 1: Union, this new series is not living up to what the characters are capable of, instead the writing seems lazy, depending on the popularity of the character.Im not sure if DC is purposely trying to write for a female audience but if they are, they are doing it wrong. I dont want stories about fluffy puppies and slumber parties. I want an interesting plot with an badass female character that is fun and crazy, not stupid. Also I could do with a few less beaver jokes.Aside from Gotham City Sirens I would also suggest Batman: Harley & Ivy. For a great Harley story you cant go wrong with Paul Dini, her creator!
