The pair repeatedly kicked and threw the small kitten against a wall in the brutal attack, which left the cat with a broken leg.
Grotesque footage taken of the girls’ actions shows the animal trying to escape their clutches but they captured it and continued the torture it in what appears to be an abandoned building.
Even more disturbingly, one of the teens urges her seven-year-old sister to join in the abuse and praises her when she throws the helpless animal against the wall.
At one stage, the girls think they have killed the kitten as it lies motionless on the ground with blood pouring from its head.
Fortunately, the kitten survived the harrowing ordeal after another group of teens who witnessed the attack on Instagram rushed to the abandoned building in Kinel, Samara region, in Russia.
The kitten is receiving round-the-clock care from vets treating it for serious head injuries and a broken leg.
Locals reported the incident to the police who are talking to one of the young girls and her mother.
The other teen’s identity is not yet known.
The girl’s mother said: “I am shocked with this horror, like everyone else.

“Do you think it is easy for me now to stay at work when I’m appalled with that my daughter had done?
“I do not approve of what she inflicted on the kitten but I will protect her. She is my child, it could have happened to anyone.”
Speaking about the family’s own pet cat, the mother added: “I cannot understand where such cruelty comes from. We have been called to report it to the police.”
