Time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter has to recruit a rag-tag team of heroes and villains to help prevent an apocalypse that could impact not only Earth, but all of time.
When heroes alone are not enough... the world needs legends. Having seen the future, Rip Hunter will desperately try to prevent certain events from happening, by time-traveling; Now Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a desperate group of heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - not only is the planet at stake, but our timeline itself. The Great Question being asked here is can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?
Its all fun and games and I think that's where it goes wrong. It's almost like the writers try to hard to add humour and wit that they "think" will appeal to younger audiences, when actually older teens and adults also want to enjoy the show. If they took more time to really tell a story and erased some plot holes and maybe made it a bit more serious with a mix of good humour, then yeah this could be a really great show, but so far its just okay.
This could have been good except that the story line was ridiculous and the actors mainly miscast. As others have said the main story makes no sense. A rogue time traveller, (so badly cast he was unwatchable most of the time. Arthur Darvill just has zero screen presence and no charisma whatsoever. Who decided to cast him in this?) decides to gather a group of super heroes to help him kill an immortal who has killed his wife and child. Why he didn't just time travel to just before they were killed and take them elsewhere or to a different time is not explained. The group he picks including two criminals with no super powers are all pretty weak and seem incapable of killing this one evil being. As the series moves on it becomes more and more frustrating and errors and plot holes abound. The only thing that made this watchable was the special effects were pretty good, but that is about it.

Rex Tyler is a superhero called Hourman. He debuted in 1940, during the "Golden Age" of comics. Rex had developed a pill, called Miraclo, which gave him the strength and power of ten men, but only for an hour at a time. Rex had no time travel powers or technology, although a later version of Hourman, an android built by Tyler's company in the far future, did have a ship which could travel through time, as well as other time related powers. The Justice Society of America, or JSA, is the first superhero team. Debuting in November of 1940, the team brought together several superheros which DC comics had published adventures about, including Hourman, Hawkman, the original versions of the Flash (Jay Garrick), and the Atom (who had no shrinking powers but was just a short man who was a good fighter), Green Lantern, as well as several other heroes. It may be helpful but is not strictly necessary. While all the characters on Legends have previously appeared on Arrow or Flash, this show has a mostly new plotline. It may be helpful to watch the two part Arrow-Flash crossover "Legends of Yesterday" and "Legends of Today" since those episodes introduce the primary antagonist for Legends of Tommorow's first season. a5c7b9f00b
