Home»Odds to Win Big Brother Season 22: All-Stars
https://www.thesfnews.com/big-brother-all-stars-premiere-recap/62472
It appeared the hottest reality TV show of the summer, Big Brother, would not have a season this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Its partner to the north, Big Brother Canada, was halted midway through production in the spring as the world as we know it pressed pause.
However, in a surprising turn, CBS announced Big Brother 22 would take place starting August 5, about a month later than usual, and it would be an all-star cast for the first time since its seventh season in 2006. This year’s contestants included former winners, runners-up and big personalities competing for the $500,000 grand prize.
Online sportsbook Bovada has updated its odds for Big Brother: All-Stars for the final three with season 16 runner-up Cody Calafiore the favorite at -400.
He’s followed by season 18 winner Nicole Franzel at +450 and season 12 member of the Brigade Enzo Palumbo at +800 heading into finale night.
In Cody’s first season, he had a terrific alliance with eventual winner Derrick Levasseur that saw the two – dubbed “The Hitmen” – reach the finals. Levasseur was only up for eviction in the final three when Cody won the final head of household, while Calafiore only saw the block twice and never had an eviction vote against him.
This season, he has yet to see the block at all and therefore still hasn’t received an eviction vote against him. The New Jersey native is athletic, having played soccer for the Temple Owls, and has a great social game as well. To start season 22, he won the first head of household, securing safety for the week while also grabbing power to choose which other house guests would be up to be eliminated first.
In Week 3, Cody won the POV to keep Tyler Crispen’s nominees on the block and send Janelle Pierzina packing.
What makes him dangerous is his ability to win competitions, especially in an all-star season when some of the contestants are older and he is still young at 29.
After Cody survived Big Brother’s first triple eviction, Memphis Garrett and Tyler Crispen, perhaps his biggest threats, were evicted in back-to-back weeks, paving his path to finale night.
There is one contestant at this point offering good value, in my opinion, and it is the only previous winner remaining, Enzo Palumbo (+800).
Enzo has won a couple of competitions and his name isn’t being brought up by anyone. He has a good social game and the evicted house guests seem to like him. Anything can happen on finale night so taking the plus odds may be worth the wager.
Although there are only three contestants battling for the grand prize, the entire cast is eligible to win America’s Favorite Player with a prize of $25,000. Tyler and Da’Vonne have the shortest odds at +175. Tyler played hard, won challenges and wore his heart on his sleeve. Meanwhile, Da’Vonne played with her heart and talked about many social injustices playing out in society today.
I think Da’Vonne is the best bet for this because I think she resonated with many Americans during tough times, specifically for minorities and injustices.
That said, I think there is incredible value on Cody at +1600. As mentioned before, he was the runner-up in season 16 with no votes against him, and he received no votes and didn’t see the block this year. Cody was a beast in competitions and had a great social game. At +1600, he may not win this award but those are fantastic odds.
