for the most part I actually liked this book, but not enough to attempt to read the next one. The main problem that I had, and it was a big one, is that it ended with so many questions about the main characters past that were left unanswered. Questions that were a big part of the plot and whose answers could have really helped the reader understand the characters more. When I read this I was not aware that it is the middle book in a trilogy about the same characters. Perhaps those questions were answered in the first book, but that still doesnt explain why Flynn refuses to tell Maggie about a part of his life that was so extremely important to him, especially if it is something that he is still having nightmares about years later. I dont understand how this book ends with the characters getting married but still have these giant secrets between them. It doesnt bode well for their future (which is confirmed after reading the blurb for the next book). Another issue that I had was the enormous number of secondary characters that all had their own story. At times I felt like I knew more about them than I did for the main characters. It is generally a good thing when there is a secondary storyline, it helps to ensure that the reader doesnt get bored, but this author took it a bit to far. There were at least ten peripheral characters that you get involved with, then they disappear and you dont know what happens with them. Unless the author plans on writing a book for each of these characters, or at least updating us on their progress I dont feel that they should have been included. I mean really what happened to the other four bandits, the little boy that Flynn rescued, Noras brother, Talks to Birds, Kates father? Why even bring up polygamy? All of this was introduced, but nothing was resolved with these characters. It is just too much there is no way the author can resolve all of this in the next book, and based on the actions at the end of this book, she will probably not even attempt to address many of them. Aside from that rant and to be fair, there were several good things about this book. Overall it was a pleasant read, there was a lot of action and a lot of emotion. You could see the main characters growing which is good, but in some instances you see them regressing ( which got annoying).
