In the Quad, a planetary system on the brink of a bloody interplanetary class war, a fun loving trio of bounty hunters attempt to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants.
Killjoys is a fast paced space adventure about a trio of hard-living, party-loving bounty hunters working for the R.A.C (Recovery and Apprehension Coalition). An Independent interplanetary organization of assassins and retrieval experts, who are known across the J cluster as Killjoys. The show centers on their lives and activities in the Quad, a heavily populated solar system, ruled by a tyrannical class based corporation known as the company. With the whole system verging on revolutionary war and their own bloody pasts finally catching up with them. The three struggle daily to maintain their R.A.C neutrality by focusing on the only law a Killjoy won't break "The Warrant is all".
I will preface this by saying that I have seen up to the end of season 3 at this point. (Syfy recently announced that this show has been renewed for two more seasons). What I look for in a show is mostly great character interactions and then a believable plot line. Special effects are great but they must not take over. I disliked the Transformers movies and Star Wars episodes 1 and 2. My all-time favorites are Firefly and Battlestar Galactica. The best thing about this show is the relationship between the three main characters, but over time a lot of the secondary characters get more screen time and they are great, too. Even the nasties are fun to watch. There's a fair amount of humour, and a fair amount of action. This show starts out about bounty hunting, but as the seasons progress it becomes about much more than that, so don't expect episode after episode of our team doing the same thing over and over. There is some political maneuvering, there are mysteries, there is a fair amount of delving into our characters' backgrounds, and there are hints of an upcoming war. Although each episode stands on its own, there are a few threads going at once so you get a lot more out of it if you are paying attention. There's not a lot of special effects, but the sets and lighting are gorgeous. I'm really looking forward to the next two seasons.
This show is amazing, because the characters are so likable, lovable, entertaining, they have such great chemistry and interactions!! The acting is top notch, the cgi is superb, the story lines believable and enjoying, spooky sometimes! And they release just the right amount of info for background story reasons every episode! You can't help,but love the show! We need more characters like Dutch out there, a beautiful, kick ass, yet vulnerable woman, LEAD ROLE!!!! She's NO ONES side kick!!!! She even has men as HER sidekicks, it's awesome! And her backstory, who is she, who is Khylen, what has she done, what has he done, will,bite her in the butt, will it bite Johnny? And Dutch and Johnnys relationship is so pure, light, loving, and amazing!!!!! Such love and devotion they have it's truly amazing...
