Set in a near future, technology-reliant society is creating killing machines. Against this backdrop an elite Marine unit is helicoptered in to a remote, off-the-grid island training facility, to test the capabilities of the latest prototypes. They set up positions and make short work of the AI targets in the killing field. However, overnight their sentry goes missing, and when they find the corpse the next day they find themselves in the killing field and the tables have turned. The Marines fight to survive on an island that is overrun by an enemy intelligence far beyond their predecessors, which learns from their every move.

Sold Sci-fi Movie. Yes, there were some holes in the script, and the lines were at times a little blah, but I find that I can forgive that. In some ways, one of the things I like about this movie is the lack of moral dilemma that seems to permeate a lot of movies of late. Sometimes, you just wanna see people and robots shoot it out for survival without too much emotional attachment to it all. On the plus side, the Robots were well done and very detailed. The effects were also good considering its a lower budget movie. The action was good, and the location was well suited for the story. The acting was also good, though the words that came out of their mouths at time were a little blah, but that is more due to the script then the actors themselves. The story itself was solid, though missing some detail. On the negative, I found, like apparently many others, the dialogue to be a little to the robotic side sometimes, or just lacking, particularly on the side of the the homicidal robot. Details about the plot were pared down to a minimum for whatever reason as well. While this did hurt the movie by taking away a certain depth, it's not enough to ruin the overall experience. Overall, despite some of the plot and dialogue issues, this is definitely a movie worth seeing. Simple plot with a few holes in it, good action, and special effects worthy of bigger budget movies. One of the better Sci-fi offerings to come out in the last little while insofar as movies are concerned.
I was very skeptical at first to watch a sci-fi with no big banner/ names or cast, but wanted to give it a try. I was so surprised that the team could come up with such an overused story line and execute it in a very different way. The CGI or special effects or robots used were very convincing and well edited and directed by Steven Gomez, to show the world a much better view of a well known script. I would advise anyone, who wants to see something new, refreshing, simple Sci-Fi based subject, this is the one for you. The BGM and acting along with machines and CGI will keep you on the edge of your seat yet craving for more. Thank you for reading.
