✅ Diabetes mellitus in humans is a complex of symptoms caused by various diseases. Of frequent occurrence are:1. multigenic, juvenile, type 1 diabetes (T1D)2. multigenic, adult-onset, type 2 diabetes (T2D)3. monogenic, MODY, type 3 diabetes (T3D)An estimated division of diabetic patients over these diseases is: T1D 5.5%, T2D 89% and T3D 5%. The remaining 0.5% of diabetic problems in humans originate mainly from gestational diabetes. Prediabetes causes overweight (not the other way round) and leads to long-term diabetes complications. Careful daily regulation of the blood glucose level, keeping the HbA1c fraction under 48 mmolmol, prevents such complications. This booklet reveals how the ongoing diabetic epidemic could be controlled.
