Angelina Pivarnick of Jersey Shore Is Responding to "Nip Slip" Comments and It's Just Like 2009 All Over Again

We'll admit it — going braless can be hard. From the ubiquitous nip slip to the feeling like you're slowly getting strangled by a small snake because of some uncomfortable boob tape, there are a variety of ways that freeing the nipple could go wrong. And on Monday night during the VMAs, Jersey Shore's Angelina Pivarnick discovered yet another pitfall that comes with eschewing a bra: having your boob tape get mistaken for a nip slip.
As People reported, Pivarnick opted to wear a white pantsuit on the pink carpet and went without a shirt or a bra. Later, she uploaded a picture of the daring look on her Instagram. Some fans, however, soon brought what they thought was a nip slip to her attention. Even fellow Jersey Shore cast member Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, noticed the apparent wardrobe malfunction, and commented "Nip Slip" on the photo, according to People.
As it turns out, however, no such nip slip happened. Pivarnick later amended the Instagram caption to reflect the fact that it was actually just an unfortunate combination of boob tape, hot studio lights, late August temperatures, and sweat. "ITS NOT A NIPPLE ITS TAPE U ASSES. OMG [sic]," Pivarnick wrote. "My tape was exposed. It is hot out and it came undone. Relax !!!" Glad we cleared that up.
As for boob tape tips that won't leave your followers, stylist Karla Welch has got you covered. In 2014, she told Allure that the trick is to tape above the breasts. She recommended Vapon Topstick double-sided tape, saying that "it could hang art." Further, Welch told Allure, "The most common mistake people make with tape is applying it directly to their cleavage. It pulls on your breasts and puckers the skin." But that doesn't apply to strapless dresses — according to Welch, strapless dresses should only ever stay on by the power of a perfect fit.
