Set between the first and second film, Sgt Davis Tubbs assembles a task force to destroy the Creeper once and for all while growing closer than ever before to learning the secrets of its dark origins, as the monster terrorizes a local farming community.
Well just got home from seeing the movie tonight. Thought the movie was better than I thought it was going to be. All the moments that the creeper was on the screen was great. The acting could have been better by the characters. The new more developed character in this movie was the truck. Won't spoil it for anyone, but the truck has a few new moves this time. Really as creepy, and surprising as the creeper himself. Yes we also finally get to see Trish a little bit. This movie starts at the end of the first movie and ends at the beginning of the second. You can seamlessly watch the 1st one - the 3rd one - then the 2nd chronologically. One problem with the movie is they seem to figure out where the creeper came from ( quote from movie ) he is ancient. Then they don't tell you?
Those that have seen the rest of the series know that one of the major hooks, is that the &quot;creeper&quot; is a rather mysterious character in the horror film genre. In the first two films, all we really know is that every 23rd spring it gets to eat for 23 days, and that it eats to restore it&#39;s body.<br/><br/>Enter the third film. The allure of this film, is that supposedly after all these years, light will be shed on the creature. There&#39;s a part in the film, where they hold the former hand of &quot;the creeper&quot;, which gives the person a vision of it&#39;s past, and what it is. However, NONE of this is shared with the audience! IMHO it&#39;s a BIG @#$% you to its patrons. Without a doubt, this is nothing more then a ploy to revive a long dead series due to the lack of creativity in movie producers these days, and string along those enjoyed the franchise milking them of their money.<br/><br/>The portrayal of the main antagonist is so far off the mark from the rest of the series. Supposedly, the third film takes place chronologically between the first and second film. Odd part is, that elements of the film are so far outside of scope of the picture the series paints. It treats the character almost like an evil good humor ice cream truck driver.<br/><br/>The end of the film alludes to one of the characters being on the bus, the main setting, of the second film. Problem is, that if you link one film to another, the character needs to have some idea of what&#39;s going on, in order of sequence. That&#39;s just terrible storytelling.<br/><br/>I for one will not continue to waste time and energy on subsequent films of this franchise, if such horrendous methods are to be considered part of the new norm.
