Invitation to public meeting on the West End Project and on rough sleeping

Ward Councillors

Dear Bloomsbury ward resident

I hope you are well.

I, along with my fellow ward councillors Sabrina Francis and Rishi Madlani, am writing to invite you to a public meeting on 18 January, 6.30-8.30pm at Fitzrovia Community Centre (Room 6), 2 Foley Street, W1D 6DL.

We are planning to talk about:

The West End Project – the planned changes to Tottenham Court Road and Gower Street. We will hear from the Camden council officer leading on this, Kevin Stears. Many people are keen to have an update and to ask more detailed questions about the changes, which will be implemented next year. Please seehere for more details about the project.

Rough sleeping – this is something that is of increasing concern. We will hear from Ian Bangay of the Camden Safer Streets Team about the extent of the issue and what can be done, including very locally. In the meantime, if you are worried about someone sleeping rough in Camden, details of what to do can be found here.

---

We welcome your requests for subjects to discuss at future meetings. One currently in the pipeline is to invite a representative of the mayor of London to come to speak to us about plans to pedestrianise Oxford Street. Further to this, please note the consultation that TfL is currently running about proposed changes to buses in central London here.

---

You may have seen the announcement of full funding to turn Alfred Place into a park, something which has been a priority of ours for a number of years. See the story here.

---

.

Keep up to date with what is going on by signing up for e-alerts for planning, licensing, streetworks, parking and emergency notifications. You can choose the area you would like updates for here.

---

Check out what Camden council itself is currently consulting on – open consultations include: building control; welfare advice; and the ‘Camden Commission’ to develop a vision for Camden for the next five years. These are all here.

As ever if there is anything else you would like to speak with us about – any local issues, council services – then please get in touch or drop in to one of our regular surgeries, details of which are in my footer below.

Best wishes

Adam Harrison

Bloomsbury ward councillor alongside Sabrina Francis and Rishi Madlani
