I absolutely loved this book. I live in the village of Kilcrohane, which is the same village Donald and Mary settled in. Like Donald and Mary, we were living in the States and decided to move to Ireland. We made our decision in 2014 as opposed to 1974, but it was equally as adventurous for us. The woman who bought Marys home after she passed away (Donald passed away earlier) let me borrow this book. Its quite interesting to read a book where you know most of the characters and places. Although we dont keep goats or bees, we do grow fruits and vegetables and fresh herbs. Kilcrohane is as beautiful, unspoiled and friendly today as it was when Donald wrote this book.
