We’ve all woken up from a particularly strange sexual dream and been like, "What the hell just happened? And why?"
Well, some experts suggest that the people you hook up with in your wildest sex dreams (ahem, T-Swift) are just representations of yourself. But others emphasize that those random people, like an ex, a celebrity, or even your BFF are symbols of your unmet needs or desires. (Usually, your dreams don't actually mean you want to do the dirty with a vampire or bang your best friend.) Good to know, right?

"One time, I had this really weird dream that I was having sex with Mel Gibson. I have no idea why it happened. I don’t think I had recently watched any of his movies and wasn’t thinking about him that day, which made it even weirder to me. The strangest part: He had that Braveheart face paint on." —Daphne C.

"I left my last job because I hated my boss with a burning passion. He was easily the biggest jerk I’ve ever worked for in my life. A couple of months before I finally found a new job, I had a sex dream featuring him. In the dream, I actually liked hooking up with him in his office. "In college, I was visiting a friend at her family’s house for the weekend. While I was there, I had a sex dream about my friend’s dad while I was sleeping in bed with my friend. The dream took place in their kitchen, specifically the kitchen island. I must have made a lot of noise when I woke up because my friend asked what was wrong. I just said I had a bad dream.
