In flashback, Integra is seen assuming leadership of the Hellsing organization as she resolves a conflict with her uncle with the help of the vampire Alucard. In present day, Alucard goes on a mission to the town of Cheddar to silence a vampiric priest who has been killing townspeople, and in the process must also present the young police girl Seras Victoria with the choice to either die or become a vampire. Also, Alucard battles a Vatican priest named Alexander Anderson after they are both sent to kill the same vampire in Northern Ireland.
The vampire Alucard, his master Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing, and his newly sired ward Seras Victoria, try to protect England from a war-crazed SS-Major who seeks to start an eternal war with his vampire army.
I think my summary says all. Especially if i add i mostly despise anime-culture. At least Naruto, Death Note and the other meaningless and tasteless popular no-good waste of moneys anyway, with their really, beyond words pathetic "OMG cosplay is my life and Kira is sooo hawt" fan girls and even worse fan boys who are just like Alucard's nickname "no life king"....... Oh and before anyone questions it, i did watch those and a lot of others like Full Metal Alchemist and so out of curiosity and pure boredom, so i don't just say that, i actually really saw them and i still think so...So chew on my words all you fanatics and sentence me to eternal torment for it.

For the reasonable people i continue and say Elfen Lied and Rozen Maiden were the only ones which entertained me, which made me feel emotions, think, etc, everything what a good piece of art shall do. And oh yeah i liked the old Hellsing. I am not really into mangas, kangas and those sort of Japanese things, I was and am a real comic-book fan, and by comic-books i mean Batman, Sin City, Hellboy, Constantine and sort. For me a good character, a clever plot, and a REAL fight for example between Joker and Batman is more exciting than the average "we look into each others eyes for 20 minutes than we shout meaningless things and insults toward each other for another 20, then we fight for a., 1 minute (like most of the fights in the original hellsing and in this one too, i must admit), b., for an eternity(dragon ball anyone?)". And i could never get over the "we sacrifice everything, EVERYTHING just to look stylish and cool" attitude either. Which Hellsing Ultimate does too...

So why i love this so much? I don't know. Honestly. And i think this is the best compliment i can give. This is even better then the old hellsing series was. This is so breath-takingly amazing, every scene, every word is believable, likable, you can almost imagine them as real people around you. Especially Seras Victoria and Pip Bernadotte. Their romance is the perfect example to show what i mean: It is so smooth, it never makes a big deal about itself, its not rousing but arousing, its so delicate and yet it explodes with such fierceness and emotions in episode 7, that i dare to call it the most touching thing I might ever will see in my life. The whole scene is so unearthly bloody and violent and still it is more kind and gentle then 99% of the chick-flicks you see. Why? Because it is real. It feels real anyway, in that moment you really believe that the mercenary-captain is glad the way he dies, protecting a sweet girl, and you feel the pain of Seras, you see the hatred and the anger rise within her, which leads to her decision to finally drink blood, which is a thing she was afraid to do, because she thought she will lose her humanity, but right now you see and understand why she does it.

All characters are obsessed, not black and not white, but all different depths of gray. Even the craziest and most evil Major has his soft moments when he jokes around with Schrödinger about him being fat, or when she praises and salutes for Rip Van Winkle, and also Integra can be an ignorant, violent fool driven by her hatred and anger (for example when she orders Alucard to massacre in episode 3) I rambled too much already so i close this review now, with the conclusion: Even if you are an avid hater of animes or a real fan, this is beyond that argument. This is beyond the question, what it is, because the answer is really simple: pure genius ART, intentionally with all big letters.
Finally, I came to write a review about my best and most beloved anime – Hellsing Ultimate. There are so many things that I want to say about it, that I'm just afraid of being lost in this forest of thoughts. Well, I must start with the words that this is the remake of the original Hellsing (2001). Often when I say "remake", I put some negative meaning in it, but not this time, oooooh, definitely not this time. Because this time I wasn't just amazed and dragged into this world, I believed every single word that came out of the Reich Major's mouth, I tasted every drop of blood along with Alucard, felt sick madness growing inside me every time Anderson started his speech, sensed cold-blood nobility in every Integra's order and action. These kinds of feelings just overflow you from your feet to the tips of your ears and you start suffocating in them. That's what Hellsing Ultimate will endow you with – a gigant 100 m wave of feelings and emotions that will wash you away into the abyss of clear obsession.

Story – 10/10 The story line is fascinating. The Knights of Round Table vs The Vatican vs Millennium. I mean what can be more exciting than a fight between the Devil himself, servants of God and beasts whose only reason of living is bringing DEATH to all. The mix of mysticism, religion fanaticism, brutality, gore, violence and tooons of pure insanity – all of that plus insanely catching story about NEW WORLD ORDER is what makes Hellsing that gorgeous.

Art – 9/10 The art style is beautiful. The animation is incredible. The special effects are on the top level. Hellsing is one of those animes in which 3D animation looks flawless and does harmonize perfectly with the simple graphics. Characters and the whole world in Hellsing looks very detailed and does not cause you any discomfort perceiving them.

Music – 9/10 Though Hellsing does not have any opening themes, it does have dozen of great orchestral endings (and a couple of rock endings) that will force you to plunge even deeper into the dark horror- fantasy universe. I'm not even mentioning the breathtaking scenes of undefeated beast as Alucard is, raping everyone with the sick, vomit and exciting at once causing smile on his face, accompanied by classic music masterpieces.

Characters – 10/10 Just don't know what else to say about characters in this show. You can only feel it when you see it, because characters are that sparkling sun that makes Hellsing shine above all.

Enjoyment – 100/10 Unbelievable. Unimaginable. Unique.

Overall – 10/10 My absolute №1 of all time. Impossible to transfer the feeling after watching Hellsing Ultimate. Blood pumping in your veins, sensation of Mastering the World, GOD LEVEL. Absolutely recommended for all anime fans over 18.

The OVAs from part 6 onwards were also released on Blu-Ray. In October 2010, a Japanese box-set was released which also includes the OVAs 1 through 5 in 1080p. What makes this box interesting are the completely revised "Recut" versions of part 1 through 4. They really worked hard and with a lot of sensitivity in order to make the quality of the animations of the first episodes just as good as the quality of the later ones. The color as well as the image brilliance was noticeably improved. Backgrounds, landscapes, eyes and glasses have much more detail, light, and reflection. Also, a few mistakes of the facial movements were undone (especially those of Alucard in OVA 1 and 3 but also those of Luke Valentine in OVA 2). All in all, the first four parts now have a completely different atmosphere to them and now look great in comparison to the more recent episodes. a5c7b9f00b
