I read and finished this yesterday.Sex: NoGore: NoMagic: Yes (they have barrier making powers and some kind of exploding power, which I consider to be magic)Romance: (This ones kind of hard to say) So far, there isnt much romance, especially since this is still the beginning of the series and there are thirty something volumes total in this series, although you can tell that Yoshimori at least likes Tokine, not sure how she feels about him yet.Action: 4.5 stars (there is a lot of action)Pacing: 4 starsPlot: 4 starsDrawings/Art: 4 starsA few of the things that I loved about this book was the plot. I enjoy reading books about demon fighting and magic, so its only natural that I would end up reading this series and liking it. Plus, I like the characters too, and I liked this volume better than the first one, I usually always like the second books better than the first ones in many series, I think its because the first book/volume are usually mostly setting up the story and introducing the major characters.Warning, SpoilersVolume 2 has chapters 8-16 in it.Chapters 8-13 are about Yomi and also about Tokines father, chapter 8 also answers the question (a bit) of where Yoshimoris mom is, I didnt think that my questions would be solved this early in the series.(In chapters 8-13) In the beginning there is a flashback of when Tokine was a little kid and she asked her did if she could go demon hunting with him, but he said that shes too young right now. Then, Tokine and Yoshimori are in the school hallway, school is over for the day, and theyre talking about humens with unusual powers, and then Tokine starts talking about Yoshimoris mom (shes a jutsusha, I wonder what that is, maybe some kind of spell caster), then she asks him how his mother is and he says that he doesnt because she comes home sometimes, but doesnt stay long. Then, a mysterious girl named Yomi shows up at Tokines house saying that she was sent by the shadow organization to stay with them. Tokines grandmother is surprised but lets her stay. Soon after, Tokine comes home and Yomi starts talking about Tokines dad, then Tokine has a flashback of when her dad died, it looked like this incident changed her a lot and for the better.That night, Yoshimori and Tokine are at the school looking for demons (as usual), Tokines acting strange, and Yoshimori tries to make her feeel better when they both sense a demon, but when they go look for it they find Yomi instead, (coincidence? Not really). She suggests that they have tea and is prepared with cups and everything (who has tea outside at night? Then again, this is a manga and Ive see and read about weirder things before).The next night, Yoshimori shows up before Tokine does, and Yomi theres too, they have tea again and this time she brought some japanese sweets. Yoshimori asks Yomi if she could stop talking about Tokines father (wow, Yoshimuri and Tokine are close, since he could tell right away that something was bothering her), after that he tries one of Yomis sweets and passes out. Then Tokine comes, Yoshimoris not there anymore and we find out that Yomi is actually a demon tamer and that she and her demon Yoki are going to conquer Karasumori. Tokine finds out what happened to Yoshimori and shes worryed and keeps asking where he is, then Yomi says that she actually hated Tokines father and just when Tokines about to be squashed, Yoshimori comes flying out of nowhere and saves Tokine.Tokine doesnt have much energy left to fight, and she has a plan, so she tells Yoshimori what her plan is and thats what they do.Yomi remembers when she and Yoki were little and how people always made fun of them, saying that they were slow and weak, which is why she wants him to become stronger so badly. Yoki keeps on getting stronger and to Yomis suprise, he says that he doesnt need her anymore. Yoshimori tells Yomi that he has to deal with Yoki, but he wont kill him. Yoshimori and Yoki are fighting. And then two men from the night troops from the shadow organization (they came to arrest Yomi), Yoshimoris grandpa, and Tokines grandma show up.The two mysterious men start attacking Yoki (poor Yomi, she loves Yoki so much). Yoshimori is a really sweet person, even though hes willing to kill demons and its his job, he knows that some deserve to live even though theyre a bad. He saves a piece of Yoki and gives it Yomi, Yoki restored himself but now hes so tiny (Im not exactly sure if thats what happened or something else did) and Yomi is very happy.In chapters 15 and 16, at the Karasumori school, there are cherry blossoms blooming even though its almost winter, which is unusual. We are introduced to a new character whos name is Yurina Kanda and she can see ghosts, although she cant tell the difference between ghosts and the living. She sees a ghost outside and then she sees Yoshimuri talking to that ghost and she starts thinking about how strange it is. She overhears him talking to that ghost again and saying that he will terminate her and had a creepy look on his face. Yurina starts wondering what he is and if hes even human. She shows up at night at the school because she and her friends made plans to, and she wont go away, so now they have to protect her while theyre fighting demons. Tokine and Yoshimori didnt know that she could see ghosts until after the battle and she finds out that those two arent actually bad people. The next day, the cherry blossoms are completely gone.Those are the major incidents of this volume, of course more happened, but I dont want to bore you with all of the details.Overall, I like this manga, its not one of my most favourites yet because its still to early to tell, but you never know, although as I said before, I like this volume better than the first one, the storys developing and getting more interesting. Im getting really curious about the area Karasumori.This ended up being a longer review than I thought, sorry about that.
