GiG received a permit in Pennsylvania

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has expanded its operations to Pennsylvania after receiving a "temporary permit." The state is the latest U.S. jurisdiction to give the provider the green light to supply content as well as customer account management (PAM) and betting software.

The permit to do business as an interactive entertainment producer was issued by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB). The document gave the provider access to one of the largest iGaming markets in the United States.

According to a report PGCB published in Casino and Gaming News, August 2022, the state's revenue for July is $429.1 million, and sports betting brought in $25.4 million.

While the amount remains relatively low, the organization recorded a 28% year-over-year increase in revenue. Moreover, revenue from iGaming was $98.6 million, up 11%.

Probably with that in mind, Claudio Caruana, GiG's general counsel, said that Pennsylvania will play a "key role" in the company's growth plans in North America.

He also said, "The addition of Pennsylvania permitting to an ever-expanding list of supported markets is a testament to GiG's focus on regulated territories. It is our firm belief that making progress of this kind is at the heart of sustained and thriving growth in the online gaming industry."

Pennsylvania will play a key role in the company's expansion plans in North America, according to the functionary. The group notes that its partners can now leverage all of GiG's innovative technology in the region.

The provider currently serves 26 regulated markets. The group's management says that 9 more applications are pending.

As a reminder, GiG's PlayStar casino now operates in New Jersey.
