I liked this book because Id never seen anything quite like it. A lot of lesbian romance novels are just adaptations of popular heterosexual tropes, and thats fine, but it was a relief to see something that I wasnt already familiar with in another guise. So far as I know, there is no heterosexual romance genre for shiksas.The downside to this romance novel was that it wasnt actually very romantic. The primary relationship is largely cold and calculating, which makes it difficult to engage with the characters. At the same time, though, it was still an interestingly plotted novel that was fun to follow along with.
