Psyche and Eros, the greek gods, have decided to modernize their love matching duties and theyve founded Cupid, Inc. On the surface, its a service that matches compatible people for sexual encounters but the gods pair people that they believe will fall in love. The Accountant and the VirginSara buys a fantasy from Cupid Inc to lose her virginity. Shes hoping that the encounter will unleash her sexuality and attract her long time crush, her boss Zeth. Nic is Cupid Incs accountant and hes completely shocked when Sara shows up wanting to take shorthand. Aphrodite, Eross mother and the greek godess of love, thinks Cupid Inc is a ridiculous idea and wants to just zap people the old fashioned way. And she knows that Nic isnt the one that Saras been dreaming of. This story is my favorite of the 4. Its entertaining to watch Aphrodite and Psyche spar and Nic and Saras romance is really cute. The Stars in Her EyesJanie is the divorced owner of a bankrupt Las Vegas wedding chapel. Shes a little bitter and sad about the situation and doesnt want anything to do with her sisters gift; a celebrity date with Hollywood star, Kevan Rune. Her sister has managed to win a raffle in her name and convinces Janie to go out. Kevan is recovering from a recent break-up where his ex decided to sell their story to the press. Hes hounded by annoying reporters and wants to be just Kevan for just a bit. One Mile Up...and a Little to the LeftKaree and Bret are journalists for rival magazines. They are both given certificates for Cupid Incs Mile High Club fantasy and after meeting on the plane, theyre not sure how to keep it from their bosses. I really liked this story. I thought the emotional connection was a little fast but I liked the underlying relationship between the bosses. The Spy Who Rubbed MeHelen is a waitress looking for adventure and Paul Aris (P.Aris get it?) is the wealthy heir to a large estate. Together, theyre tasked with stealing the Golden Apple in Cupid Incs spy fantasy. I thought this story was the most shallow of the four. I never really connected with Helen or Paul. ~~The intermediate interludes with Psyche and Eros are a great supplement in the book. The stories are all entertaining but the gods interacting is great extra laugh. Ive read this book probably a dozen times and it still hasnt lost any of the light entertainment from the first reading.
