What good comes from The Star Trek Interview Book is entirely dependent on Ashermans interview subjects, as he himself appears to be a pretty mediocre interviewer. The most disappointing part were his interviews with the stars, in which he asked surface-level questions about a ton of non-Trek roles rather than diving in deeper on Trek. This makes the interviews stand up even less over time, as many of the roles are on 1950s-60s shows that a younger, modern audience would have little familiarity with.However, because Asherman did have access to a range of interesting and important Trek interview subjects, there are bright spots, mostly in the sections where he interviews writers and directors.Overall Id give The Star Trek Interview Book a C-, especially as its pieces of value have largely been duplicated in the much more informative These Are The Voyages: TOS Season One, These Are The Voyages: TOS Season Two and These Are The Voyages: TOS Season Three by Marc Cushman.
