A sweet and lovely girl named Cinderella, lived with her cruel stepmother and two stepsisters. She was treated badly, made her work day and night like a maid. Although, the three ladies; the stepmother and the two stepsisters were jealous and envied Cinderellas goodness and beauty. Although, the story and the movie have similarities, they also have a few differences, youd have to read the book and watch the movie yourself in order to understand and compare and contrast between the story and the movie, Cinderella.EXPOSITION There once was a girl named Cinderella, who lived in a tiny kingdom. She lived with her stepmother and two stepsisters who were all jealous about her. Cinderella did all the household chores all day, everyday, day and night and never complained about how much she had to do or if she was tired or not. She was a gentle and lovely girl, very hard working too and believed sooner or later things would get better for her and the best was yet to come.SETTING Cinderella lived in a tiny kingdom, where the king and his royalty family also lived. The kingdom wasnt very busy nor all that big either, til one day an invitation from the king arrived saying that a royal ball was to be held in honor of the Prince, every maiden in the kingdom was to attend.PROTAGONIST She, (Cinderella) was very humble, sweet, lovely and beautiful. The only friends she really had were the birds and the small mice. She never had anything rude to say to her stepmother nor stepsisters even when they treated her badly. She did all the cooking, cleaning, washing and sewing while the others did nothing. She never complained nor expected anything in return, on the contrary, shed do everything with pleasure although she was tired of it all.ANTAGONIST Meanwhile, her two stepsisters would make a mess on purpose and she had to clean up after them all the time. The stepmother wouldnt do anything about it either, on the contrary, she would join her daughters and add on to what Cinderella had to already.CONFLICT The stepsisters added more chores onto what Cinderella already had to do, to distract her and keep her busy from having her attend at the royal ball that was happening in the tiny kingdom that night. They did everything they could to avoid her from it because it was one less person they had to compete with also.RISING ACTION After Cinderellas stepsisters had left along with their mother, she burst into tears and ran out to the garden where she heard a voice and looked up to see her fairy godmother standing in front of her. The fairy godmother waved her magic wand at the small mice and the pumpkin, while singing her magic words, Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!turning the pumpkin into a coach, and the mice into elegant horses. Last but not least, the fairy godmother used her magic to turn Cinderellas rags into the loveliest gown and on her tiny feet were some delicate, but sparkly glass slippers and she made her way in her splendid coach, ready to attend the royal ball that night.CLIMAX During the royal ball, the Prince saw Cinderella, he fell in love instantly. The Prince danced with Cinderella all evening, as if he seemed to have found the girl he wants to marry.FALLING ACTION All of sudden the tower clock began to strike midnight, Cinderellas time was almost over and at midnight the magic would be turned back to normal as if it was all a dream. She ran out of the ballroom and down the palace stairs, one of her glass slippers got lost and she couldnt go back for it, there was no time to lose. As she stepped into the magic coach, and quickly drove away, the clock hit midnight and the magic ended. Cinderella was just left with a pumpkin and her small friends, the mice, along with the memory of an unforgettable night.RESOLUTION The following day, the whole kingdom was wondering who the mysterious girl was, no one but the stepmother and the two ugly stepsisters knew it was Cinderella, thats why they locked her up in her room when the Duke went from house to house with the lost glass slipper left behind on the palaces stairs, trying to find the right foot that fit into the slipper perfectly. Sooner or later, Cinderellas mice friends found the key and rushed to get it up to her room. Right when the Duke was going to leave, Cinderella comes out saying she wanted to try on the glass slipper herself to see if she was the one, and she was.DENOUEMENT After all, Cinderellas dream had come true, she was no longer going to be held back as a slave for her cruel stepmother and stepsisters because she would marry the Prince and live happily ever after.SECONDARY CHARACTERS The stepmother, stepsisters, fairy godmother, and the mice.OVERALL ASSESSMENT ABOUT THE BOOK I rated it as a 5 star book because I love this book, its always been one of my favorite stories in all honesty and I never get tired of it because I actually enjoy it that much. Its great for children and throughout it all, although Cinderella was treated badly, she never lost hope, she believed that the best was yet to come. Her dreams came true, she married the Prince of the tiny kingdom shes lived in and she lived happily ever after, thanks to some help from her fairy godmother and her mice friends.
