The book Pajama Time! is a great book to read to children. Its the story of a bedtime routine. The characters in the stories are all different types of animals, which makes the story more interesting for children. The story also describes the pajamas that the animals put on and the differences between them. This book is great to read to children right before bed because it gets the kids prepared for going to sleep. Since they see the animals in the story willing to go to bed, it makes them willing as well.The illustrations in the book vary from page to page. On some pages there is a lot of white space, and on some pages there is no white space at all. The pages with the white space are usually of one of two characters and the text is describing the color and texture of their pajamas. I think the illustrator did this to have the children focus on the characters and not anything in the background. As for the pages with no white space at all, the illustrator creates a vivid scene of what is going on. The last page has the animals all tucked into bed, showing the children that its finally bed time.One of the reasons this book is so popular is because it rhymes and can be read in a song. Every page repeats the phrase Its pajama time!. Whenever I read this book aloud to the students in my classroom, they always get excited and shout out that phrase and raise their hands. This makes the book very interactive and it does a great job of keeping young childrens attentions. The book doesnt have a lot of text to it, the sentences are mostly short and are just phrases of what the animals are wearing and doing.
