In the future, Earth is attacked by the alien race Formics and after many casualties, the hero Mazer Rackham destroys the mothership and defeats the aliens. Fifty years later, the outcast boy Ender Wiggin is recruited by Colonel Graff and Major Gwen Anderson to be part of a selected team of boys and girls that are being prepared by the International Military for the next invasion of the Formics. Colonel Graff believes that he may be the leader and savior of the human race, but Major Anderson is concerned with the psychological damages that may be caused to Ender.
Ender is a slight fragile teenager with the expanding mind of a genius. His brother, the brute jock, is violent and only sees through strength and brutality. His sister the kind and compassionate one sees only through an affected sense of contact. Ender is a third child in a population overloaded world that is reeling from the previous war with the alien race of insectivorous beings who work and behave like the ants nest, the Formics. Having been brought in to being by loving parents who gained permission for his birth, Ender feels he is not only unwanted but excess baggage to the world. However, his mind is his strength. He is gifted with the ability to become his aggressor and think like his aggressor thus giving him the key to the aggressor as he learns to love them through their frailty - using this to exploit them and thus destroy them. This ability is seen by those old men solidified in their ways, who have no flexibility in their thinking anymore, and exploit Ender to achieve their own ends. But at what cost, and to whom?
I&#39;ve read the book more times than I can count so I was naturally excited, if not a little apprehensive about the movie. I have tried to like this movie and see it outside the confines of the book, but it&#39;s falls so short of what it could be and still makes me mad years later. <br/><br/>The special effects were admittedly decent, but the directing and script were filth. Hood talked about wanting to stay true to the novel but he changed really critical elements. Also, I love the cast but they didn&#39;t do the film any favours. I feel like Hood cast Academy Award Winners/Nominees in hopes of riding their coat-tails and covering up his abysmal script and lack of vision. The only redeeming qualities is the visual effects.<br/><br/>I know everybody always says this, but you&#39;re really better off reading the book - or better yet, listening to it. As for me, I&#39;m going to try my best to forget this trash pile even exists.
i just loved this film, its awesome and there is a lot of excellent effects i mean i really did not care the subject because i was watching the effects all the time.<br/><br/>my favorite part is the space war scene and i wish there will be some games like this film.<br/><br/>and also i watched this film on cinema but i also wanted to check credits part for the animators and designers; and i found the film on this site HTTP://my.mail.ru/mail/bicaps/video/15/5030.html and they talks about the film like they made it and they are offering this site HTTP://www.vipmerkezi.net/<br/><br/>(like this site made the ender&#39;s game film)<br/><br/>(the subject man is talking in 20:44 in the link i gave)<br/><br/>i just wanted you to know because it is just stealing!!!
Sure, it’s good-looking, cautionary and clever enough. But there’s not much in this “Game” that you’d call thrilling or fun.
Some elements we&#39;ll be seeing in the movie, like the 2nd Alien Invasion, were only briefly mentioned in &#39;Ender&#39;s Game&#39;, yet &#39;Ender&#39;s Shadow&#39; covers them in greater detail. Orson Scott Card says that &#39;Enders Game&#39; is an unfilmable book, not because of too much violence, but because everything takes place in Ender&#39;s head. &#39;Ender&#39;s Shadow&#39; sounds like a logical choice to improve and enhance viewers&#39; perspective on the events at the Battle School. Per the audiobook of &#39;Ender&#39;s Shadow&#39; the afterword by Orson Scott Card mentions very clearly that this film is technically an amalgam of both books to create a tellable story since the story does take place largely in Ender&#39;s head. Obviously there is significant license taken but this does not damage the overall story. Although it is not a direct contribution to battle, the zero gravity training surely augments the cadets capabilities of reflex, quick thinking, reaction, decision making and strategy developing, and, as such, is really important to the whole training process.<br/><br/>The point of the zero g training is to simulate ship to ship combat on 3 dimensions, you can see the tactics &amp; formations Ender uses in training in the final battle.<br/><br/>It&#39;s also worth mentioning that the conditions for victory in the zero-g training are the same as in graduation. As long as one team member makes it to the opponents goal uninjured, then they will have won regardless of what happens to the rest of the team. The outcome of the final game is similar to that of graduation in that Ender sacrifices every member other than the VIP so that they can win. The designers probably had the &#39;Little Doctor&#39; in mind when deciding the rules for the game. a5c7b9f00b
