THE naked body of a glamorous 24-year-old Russian beauty blogger has been found in a suitcase.
The murdered woman named as Ekaterina K — a doctor specialising in dermatology and sexually transmitted diseases — died after her throat was slit, say police.
She had also suffered a number of stab wounds.
Her body was found “packed in a suitcase” in the flat she rented in Moscow’s Pyryeva Street prompting a full scale murder hunt amid suspicions "jealousy" may have been a motive behind her death.
Her Instagram account in the name of Katty had 80,000 subscribers.
She had been a beauty pageant contestant in Moscow as well as qualifying from the prestigious Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, say reports.
As well as this she worked as a medic in a hospital in the city.
Fans said she had a likeness to British actress and fashion icon Audrey Hepburn.
Her parents became concerned when Ekaterina stopped answering their phone calls.
They asked her landlord to check her flat.
This is when her naked body was found in a suitcase.
Police are examining her love life for clues about her killer, according to reports citing law enforcement sources.
It is known she had broken up with a 32 year old lover and started a relationship with an older man.
She and the 52-year-old man had intended to make a trip to The Netherlands, it was reported.
Police are investigating if “jealousy” was linked to the crime, they added.
Her final post was about a trip to Corfu on 22 July.
Her body was found five days later.
Posts on her Instagram showed her posing in studios, or during trips, as well as occasional pictures from her day-to-day life.
One showed her graduation as a as a doctor specialising in dermatology and sexually transmitted diseases.
