When I knew that Brazilian Revenge was available to review, I was very excited! I absolutely fell in love with Carmen Falcone’s book: A Weekend Of Misbehaving and I had high expectations in regards to Brazilian Revenge. To keep my interest and to make me know without a doubt that I will have a good time reading a book, an author needs to be consistent in her work. Carmen Falcone did just that. Her storytelling is magical and is like poems to my eyes. Using simple words and creating vibrant pictures/movies while we are reading, that’s what I am calling poems. It is a non-traditional way to look at it, but that is the easiest way to get to my heart. Carmen’s characters have always that je ne sais quoi that is making them irresistible and leaves us wanting more.What I consider masterful work for an author is to take a storyline that has been seen before and use their own creativity and talent and to make it something innovative. That is exactly what was done with Brazilian Revenge. The story begins when Satyanna and Leonardo are meeting each other in Brazil (at a costume party) and then we are in for a weekend of sensuality and pleasures. At the end of the weekend, Satyanna disappeared along with Leonardo’s precious sculpture. Leonardo wants to get back that sculpture at any cost and, most of all, he wants revenge.I noticed something funny. In this book and in A Weekend Of Misbehaving, the scenes that I really enjoyed the most are those at a costume party. Carmen is truly gifted to make them alive. Scenes are vibrant, colorful and I felt just as if I was there. The story is set in Brazil, this is exotic and it is refreshing (even though it is so hot in there!!). The story pace is right on the money, a subtle balance between action and love/sensuality. Then again, I have to say that there is something totally unique when it comes to the love scenes that are masterfully crafted. I can’t put my finger on exactly what it is. It is almost as if each time it was a spiritual communion between both characters. It is written with passion, love, and integrity. I added integrity, because sex scenes are part of the story, not just randomly added here and there.I really don’t want to give out any spoilers out of this story and it is not an easy task. Characters were masterfully crafted, I feel in love with Leonardo! That man has a huge heart (being a Human Rights Lawyer is helping!!), but it is very hard to gain back his trust when it is lost. I loved how he grew in the story, the way he got in touch with his feelings and reflect on his life. I had a harder time with Satyanna when I began the book. Not that I disliked her, I was just not getting her. That changed pretty quickly, though, and the more we get to know that lioness, the more we love her. The others characters that we meet in the book are also very interesting (for those who have read the first book in the series, Bruno and Addie are back in this one!!); Harry was delicious I absolutely loved to hate him!The Duarte family hold a special place in my heart and it is one those books that once you are starting to read it, you can’t put it down.I strongly recommend this book to everyone that is looking for a great romantic suspense.I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review.
