Clay, Jensen, Pooch, and Roque are part of United States Special Forces Unit. They are deployed to a mission in Bolivia involving a drug lord, they end up disobeying orders and rescuing children. Their enraged boss, codenamed Max, orders them dead, but they survive, and end up doing small-time jobs. Then Aisha enters their lives, smuggles them back to the States on the condition that they kill Max. The group will soon realize that she has inducted them on a suicide mission - a mission which will take them to Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and to Mumbai, India; and come in possession of a mysterious encrypted hard-drive while not only facing betrayal from one of their own but also certain and violent death at the hands of Max.
A tale of double cross and revenge, centered upon the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. The team-Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar -find themselves the target of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max. Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they're joined by the mysterious Aisha, a beautiful operative with her own agenda. Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking the heavily-guarded Max, a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war.
I will keep this simple. This movie sucked. I had high hopes for it. Obviously, this is a movie in the same spirit as "THE A TEAM." And when I was a kid, I loved THE A TEAM. And considering that the new previews for "THE A TEAM" look pretty lame, I was hoping that "THE LOSERS" would be pretty good. The previews did look good, but the movie totally disappointed me. Jason Patrick is downright distracting. His attempt at being an over-the-top super villain was just painful to watch. The plot is kind of all over the place, the situations are ludicrous, and there is an absence of likable characters. Also, I am sensitive to the super liberal slant prevalent in Hollywood today. Two obvious agenda devices in the movie: One of the "LOSERS" good guy character is the Spanish sniper guy. He wears a Che Guevara shirt, while Jason Patrick, the super villain, prominently wears an American Flag pin on his suit lapel. Pretty obvious juxtaposition, if you ask me. Obviously the bad guy is a rich conservative out to frame the nice little Muslims for acts of terrorism (which they, themselves, would never commit, right? RIGHT?). While the real good guy is a man who idolizes Che Guevara. You all remember who Che was, right? Ya know, the mass murderer? The guy who murdered innocent people if they disagreed with his idealism of GLOBAL COMMUNISM. Remember that? You doubt me? Look it up yourself. I am sick of these young punks who so proudly walk around with their Che Guevara shirts. They think it is equivalent to a James Dean shirt or something like that, depicting themselves as "rebels." But they are not familiar with the real nature of the Che icon. Che was a fanatical communist, who believed that his murders were justified in the name of enslaving people to the communist system. Personally, I absolutely hate communism, and I cherish freedom. I would think a movie about brave warriors, rogue commandos, and ex-special forces types would favor the ideal of freedom and liberty. But not in this case. Beyond all that, the bottom line is that this movie sucked. I was especially underwhelmed by the slow, plodding fight scene between the main character and the Uhura girl from Star Trek. That was suppose to be exciting and sexy. It was neither. It was just boring and slow. This movie sucked. Save your money. Go see something else. To hell with "THE LOSERS," to hell with the murdering thug Che Guevara, and to hell with the stupid liberals in Hollywood who have clearly forgotten how to make an entertaining action flick.
The beginning of the movie a helicpoter full of children is blown up gruesomely murdering dozens of innocent kids, at first they were portrayed as very sweet and it was a touching cause they were rescued. then BAM watching them blown to bits in a violent and twisted f'd up way was so out of line even for a movie. If you are a parent and want to be completely disturbed then this movie is recommended just for that pleasant and over the top scene. If a director feels the need to use "shock-value" to this extreme, he obviously doesn't have the creativity to make a good movie which showed in the rest of the film. the movie was crap and so are the makers. I wonder if they run over puppies for fun. -10, F-, f'd up on so many levels I went to bed disturbed and need to watch inglorious basterds to feel human again. At least in that movie they didn't visciously murder children. Losers, is a suiting title, especially for whoever thought up this movie...sequel coming soon....dumbasses
The movie gets the job done, and the actors show a lot of confidence in occupying that tricky middle ground between controlled satire and comic overkill. It's fun.
