Danny has assumed a great power with advanced marshal arts skills. Danny 's is bestowed the responsibility to defeat a secret organization called the hand.
This plot should have been told in a 4 episode run, not dragged out for 13 episodes. There just isn&#39;t enough story there to fill 13 episodes. The cast of characters are not interesting and the attempts to delve into their lives to make them more meaningful just pulls the story from one bland direction to the next. It&#39;s just all over the place in a bad way. The entire season lacked focus, and the acting was very poor and forced.<br/><br/>Another big problem with this show is the poor filming of the fighting choreography. A show like Iron Fist relies heavily on the martial arts action, and even though at times when the fight moves are adequate they are filmed in such a bland way that you never believe they are actually fighting. It&#39;s more like watching people dance. The action needed more of an impact. It shouldn&#39;t be hard to do with all the Wushu artists these days. What they got was blah and boring. So overall, I say this show is a fail.
As a Chinese, I&#39;m insulted watching this show. The Mandarin is not recognizable at all. Seems like they can&#39;t afford to hire a real Chinese to teach actors the pronunciation. Yet they still make characters just speak Mandarin in the most unexpected situations that makes you say $%^&amp;&amp;*. The Chinese elements, which are mixed with Japanese elements are laughable and not respectful. It is probably made up completely by some western guy who only watched a couple Bruce Lee films. The action scenes are just as garbage as the Mandarin pronunciation. The punches are soft and stunts are fake. And honestly, can&#39;t the Iron fist be played by a stronger actor instead of this stick we get? <br/><br/>The main problem, however, in this show is the writing. It&#39;s unforgivably bad. Some portions of the story is very clichéd. Sometimes characters do things that just doesn&#39;t make any sense. The whole story line is so disconnected and just stupid that you have no idea what everything is about. It feels like the script I wrote for my high school short film project that made me fail the course, and it was a comedy.<br/><br/>The cutting is also off. Sometimes they show you entire 2 minutes of a guy walking without anything happening and doesn&#39;t have any affects to the plot. Some other times they put in a weird scene that could mean something but it actually doesn&#39;t. <br/><br/>I got to the 8th episode where a random Chinese BEGGAR in CHINA who just randomly speaks perfect English and I completely lost it. Don&#39;t start the show.
