A mismatched team of British Special Services agents led by an American must infiltrate, in disguise, a female-run Enigma factory in Berlin and bring back the decoding device that will end the war.
Late in World War II, the Brits still want their hands on a German Enigma, the typewriter-like machine that constructs and sends coded messages. Parachuting behind enemy lines - with two days to find the factory where Enigmas are made, grab one, and get out - are an unlikely quartet: a queen, a pencil pusher, a bookworm, and an almost secret agent. Plus they are all dressed as women, with only a crash course from the queen. They reach their destination, rendezvous with their German contact, a lovely librarian, and start their search. They seemed doomed to fail; is this a fool's errand?
ATQM was amusing, but what made the movie was Eddie Izzard as Tony. A few of his lines were so funny, you have to wonder if they were ad-libbed. Now, this is not the greatest movie ever made by any means. For one thing, Matt LeBlanc makes a very unattractive woman :-P. However, the characters are likable and the script is at times hysterical and at other times very heart wrenching. James Cosmo, whom I had dismissed early on in the film as being simply silly comic-relief, turned out an incredibly poignant performance. The female lead is sassy and strong while at the same time very vulnerable and traumatized by her circumstances. I was surprised, but pleased, at how strongly the story dealt with homo-, hetero-, and bisexual characters that all got along quite well. If you dislike either Eddie Izzard (say it isn't so!) or Matt LeBlanc, then you should avoid ATQM. Otherwise, enjoy! :-)
I've always had some sort of sick loving for transvestite-type films (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert and such) so I decided to put "transvestite" and "drag queen" and such in here and see what came up. One of which was this, All the Queens Men. It grabbed my attention right away, World War 2, men in dresses, EDDIE IZZARD! So I began looking up reviews and seeing what other people thought of this movie... and it seemed to be getting horrible reviews, but with all the wrong reasons.

The movie has comedy, at the right spots... that dosent mean its going to be an in your face comedy, its placed in WWII yes theres going to be Nazi-ism in the film thats how history was, you cannot neglect that, this is not ultimatly a war film, but the scene is set in the time of war in Germany.

I found the movie to be really good, and I think more people just need to give it a chance. I think this is one of the better movies i've seen in awhile... it had the right mix of comedy with war real-ism, break-ups and make-ups (not meant to be a pun) between couples in the film also... so if you dont want to spend the $20 to purchase the thing, spend the 3 or and rent it... its worthwhile
Stultifying.
