DevOps Engineer Integration-Add-on-Services

We’re in the process of developing a private cloud infrastructure to accommodate freshly rewritten use-cases taken from our internal legacy platform. Our PaaS solution is RedHat OpenShift. It’s all about DevOps, Zero Downtime, Auto-Scaling, Continuous Delivery, Centralized Logging, Metrics, Docker.
For this landscape we are looking for an experienced system engineer with DevOps know-how and knowledge in distributed computing.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Technical operating and maintenance of multiple in-house applications in a RedHat OpenShift cluster. You’ll probably often want use the shell (RHEL7) while managing cluster nodes and you will need to use some shell scripting in the process
- Close cooperation with the product owner, development and infrastructure teams
- Monitoring health and capacity of the cluster and its applications to ensure their optimal performance. The tool stack currently contains, not exclusively, Hawkular Metrics, Grafana, the EFK stack, Zabbix and Nagios
- You will participate in the development and support of fully automated testing and deployment pipelines – CI/CD
- Analysis and resolving of incidents. To be able to do this you’ll get deep insight into the inner workings of deployed applications
- Participate in 2nd/3rd level 24/7 on-call support
Your skills and experience:
Must-have knowledge in the following areas
- Some hands-on experience with distributed compute platforms or distributed computing or application clustering in general
- Docker, Linux Shell, GIT
- Clean Code Mindset
- Very good communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Self-reliant and structured way of working
- Good command of English as a prerequisite to work in an international project environment
Nice-to-have knowledge
- RedHat OpenShift Origin or Enterprise
- Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, Fisheye
- PostgreSQL
- Years of experience with programming in Java ideally using JetBrains IntelliJ
- Willingness to take over ownership of the complete system landscape
