One of the best crime shows since The Wire. Full of strong, witty, intelligent dialog. Great case work and crime solving, along with strong acting and good cinematography. Finch was one of the greatest characters to come out in a long time. His strange persona, but upbeat and quirky way of getting things done was epic. This show got so damn good towards the end of the season, I bet this would have progressed so much in just a few more seasons. This is now the 4th or 5th show ABC should have not cancelled, including the Playboy Club and Prime Suspect, and a few others that slip my mind. Shame on you ABC. You don't know a great TV show if it smacked you in the face.
You know that show you used to watch that was so absolutely amazing? Yeah. The one that got canceled because the Network couldn&#39;t recognize a success if their lives depended on it. DETROIT 1-8-7 had the realism of HOMICIDE (which lasted for SEVEN seasons and a movie), the quirky character allure of TWIN PEAKS (a cult hit, even after 25 years!) and a stellar cast (including Michael Imperioli of SOPRANOS fame)! There are so many reasons I was shocked to find out this series was canceled after only one season. This is why I hate Network TV. Why don&#39;t we pitch NETFLIX original programming, or HULU original programming to finance the return of this fantastic program? Seriously. I&#39;m starting a petition.<br/><br/>~AKO Spandella
