Kitaplığımı geçen gün yeni bir Zweig kitabıyla şenlendirmiştim. Fazla dayanamadım, hemen okumaya başladım ve kısa olması sebebiyle hemen bitti. Kitapta dört öykü var ama benim için özel olanlar Mürebbiye ve Geç Ödenen Borç.Mürebbiye, iki kız kardeşin büyüklerin dünyasını anlamaya çalışmasıyla ilgili. Çocuk dünyasında işler farklı ilerliyor tabi. Birçok yetişkinin felaketi olan bazı acımasız ahlak kuralları, çocukları pek ilgilendirmiyor. Haliyle çok sevdikleri mürebbiyelerinin yaşadıkları karşısında şaşırıyor ve dehşete düşüyorlar. Zweigın bu duyguları çok iyi aktardığını düşünüyorum.Yaz Novellası, yaşlı başlı bir adamın genç bir kıza oynadığı bir oyun ve bu genç kızın bir aşk ihtimali karşısında nasıl sarsıldığını konu ediniyor. Adamın cüretkarlığı hoşuma gitmedi ama mekan tasviri güzeldi.Geç Ödenen Borç, bir kadının eski dostuna yazdığı bir mektup. Gençliğinde ikisinin de hayran olduğu sanatçıya yıllar sonra rastladığında neler yaşadığını anlatıyor. Hem üzen, hem de mutlu eden bir hikaye bu. Zweigın okuduğum yapıtları içinde en iyilerden diyebilirim.Son öykü ise yine yazarın birkaç eserinden oluşan başka bir derlemede mevcuttu. Betimlemesi bol, diğer hikayelerine nazaran okuması daha zor bir öykü.
