Rating 3/5*. Perfectly readable thriller of sorts. Two women have been married to the same man, Titus. He is now dying in a hosptial and wants to make amends to his first wife, Rose. When Ingrid, his wife, cant get a hold of her on the phone, she travels out to her. Rose lives in an isolated cottage with no other company than a few rats shes trying to tame. When Ingrid accidentally kills one of Roses pets, events take an ugly turn. Ingrid ends up in a sound-isolated basement, entirely left to the mercy of Rose and her rats. This book was better than I had expected. The characters are well developed and the story gets the time it needs to properly unfould. The rats are not vilified, for which I am grateful. Not exactly recommended, but if youre considering reading this, dont let me deter you.
