In 2017, Sam Treadwell lives in a society where romance, economics and technology have evolved into a state where relationships of all sorts are commodities. When he damages his animatronic wife, Cherry 2000, he hires E. Johnson (<a href=">Melanie Griffith), to guide him across a dangerous apocalyptic wasteland to an abandoned manufacturing warehouse where he hopes to find a duplicate model. Driving through the desert, they encounter Lester, the tyrannical overlord of the wasteland, before they manage to escape from him and his henchmen. Along their journey, Sam discovers that the perfect woman is real flesh and blood.
In 2017, a successful businessman travels to the ends of the earth to find that the perfect woman is always under his nose. He hires a sexy renegade tracker to find an exact duplicate of his android wife.
This is an interesting movie,I heard about it from the word on the soundtrack. The movie is known more it&#39;s soundtrack then the movie it self.the soundtrack has the record for the highest price paid for a compact disc, it sold on ebay a couple of years ago for $2000.00 for the compact disc,so when I heard that I had to see the movie. it&#39;s in the future where Melanie Griffith is a action type bounty hunter and this guy has an android lover which is his wife that dies and he has to do find another one like it.but she is kind of out of production.he can get a modern one but he wants the same one so he hires Melanie Griffith to go in to this war zone and track it down,there is only one place where he can get another.in the end he goes for the real thing and not the android.there is action and great music.it will entertain,I recommend if you like sci-fi and action movies.
This is a weird off-beat film worth a watch. Don Johnson and Melanie Grifith are great opposite each other as a human- robot couple. Grifith shines as the role asks for her innocent cat like sensitivity to shine. This along with Steve De Jarnett&#39;s Miracle Mile are two of the most underrated 80s films. The reason these kinds of films have become cult are the same reason retro-futuristic cars have become so popular- nostalgia tinged with a yearning for a better future which was the vision..
