Today I’ll show how to drive traffic on CPA offers using push notifications.

Recently I discovered that PropellerAds has released a new ad format and I thought it would be great to give it a shot. I’m talking about Native push notifications. For my first test, I picked weight loss offers.

So this is how everything turned out.

Offer: Ecoslim IT

CPA network: AdCombo

Text period: the beginning of February

AdCombo landing: 33645

Pre-landing: 36472

Campaigns

The network’s interface is yet not completely adjusted for Push Notifications campaigns. So I had to duplicate campaigns and use different creatives and texts every time. Finally, I have created 6 campaigns for this offer.

There is only one macros - {zoneid}, so I had to write UTMs for each campaign manually.

Please note, that I don’t use third-party trackers, optimization options inside the network are quite enough for me, so I don't need anything else additionally.

Firstly, I launched 4 campaigns with $10 budget each, my CPM was $0.21. Traffic volume can be checked in the traffic estimator but I usually ask my manager for the top combination of СРМ / traffic volume.

When the first budgets were out, I got 1 campaign risen to the fore, so I increased its budget. Then I copied this campaign, made some changes to the creatives, and launched the copies with a $10 budget on each.

After this test, I picked one more best-performing campaign and stopped all the rest.

Creatives

Here are some examples of my well-performing push notifications:

Results

Well, the test was already running for a few days. There were 6 campaigns at the start, and eventually I got just 2 with the highest potential:

There are many other ways of optimizing campaigns, but they need bigger expenses.

Overall results

Budget spent on 6 campaigns: - ~ $195

Earned: in AdCombo - $128 & $208 was declined.

ROI: 0.65

Note that $40 was spent on 4 campaigns which brought 0 return. The bottom line is that I spent $155 on 2 best campaigns and got ~ 0.82 ROI. Approval rate of the offer was 38%.

Guess I can consider this result pretty successful for the first test, guys.

How to optimize

What I’ll try to test:

  • make black/whitelists sources by zones;
  • search the best price for СРМ;
  • try various creatives for push notifications;
  • try a different frequency.

Next, I’ll continue to test different GEOs and separate Android targeting from the desktop in another campaign.

Then I will try to optimize the delivery time - testing is all you can do to find the perfect time for the conversion, especially if you’re working with different GEOs.
