In a word, dull. Dull and boring. **MINOR SPOILERS** What should have been a bigger event in this book - the Rising fighting the Society - ended up being nothing. At first I honestly thought that maybe my book was missing several chapters - you know, the chapters where something actually happens - but it turns out that the Rising taking over the Society was just that - nothing. Theres no action, no suspense, no anything. By the end of the book, I didnt care about Ky, Xander, or Cassia, although it all ended rather predictably for all three of them. I also thought the book was overly vague. Sometimes leaving things vague and trying to create a great symbolism works really well for books, but in this book it actually worked against it. From the jobs (still dont know what the heck a sorter is and why computers cant do it) to the Society and the Rising - everything is just so vague. I also didnt understand how Ky and Indie suddenly became the best trained pilots there ever was or how Xander got medical training so quickly. I could go on about the flaws of this book, but honestly its hard to even describe the flaws since its almost impossible to find specific concrete details. Overall, not a *terrible* book, I like the way the author tries to interweave the poetry, but in the end, disappointing.
