STAR SANDSHINOBU TERAJIMA
Born in Kyoto in 1972, joined the Bungakuza theatre troupe in 1992, leaving four years later to pursue an independent career in stage, television and cinema. She was awarded the Silver Bear Award for Best Actress at the 60th Berlin Film Festival for Koji Wakamatsu’s “Caterpillar.” She plays leading female roles in films such as Daisuke Miura’s “Uragiri no machi” (2016) and Hisako Yamada’s “Haha: Kobayashi Takiji no haha no monogatari” (2017), and is among Japan’s most recognized female actors worldwide.
