Not a lot to do on this Island. Little or no entertainment. Lovely relaxing time, could easily spent longer. This place came with a lot of noise on the internet as the perfect getaway at a good price. We took a sea villa which was fantastic. However, there is not much to do there and everything is very expensive. They have only one restaurant, and the activities are not managed too well. The jet ski guy was also a bit rude to my wife which i did not expect on such a trip. Additionally, the vegetarian optiosn if you are one are quite limited. The organization of the resort is extremely bad. On arrival in Male the sea plane was not organized. I informed them well in advance our arrival date. Excuse of resort: no names of accompanying family members. At arrival, the other day, the resort gave the wrong accommodation I was with 4 persons. This could be solved with an extra bed. Insisting to get the right accommodation we had to wait more than 1 hr. Actually they put some one else in our loft!!! In the evening the waiter brought us to the table. Dark and in the corner. Even the waiter proposed another table. Possible but it would be a separation of the family. At the end of the dinner we found our reserved table!!! Waiter informed me that the family who had our accommodation will use this table for 2 days more. Did the resort really wanted to have us and not getting on the flight fitted them very well? Our family had already 3 times holiday in the Maldives. So we can compare. All the roofs need re-thatching. Many were by their bare bones. That was evident too. There were no planned events at the resort. No social events at the resort. Only Dolphin watching. Local village excursion. All at a cost of course. The boats were old incredibly old, so I did not even bother to partake in any of these. Quite honest it felt like a dumb, a place that had been forgotten by time. The biggest pain was not having internet in the rooms. Very bad support n insufficient info to cistomers. I booked 2 nights for the r sort and it was paid in full, no refund policy communicated. When i reach male, i got to know onlu sea plane can go there if seats available. We have to forgo our booking and no refund was made. Ideal for couple, nice environment, valuable for money for all inclusive water villa, friendly and attentive staffs. Still room to improve such as no wifi connection in rooms, some over-promised information on the leaflets and expensive sea plane transportation. Great place for vacation. Facilities are good and stuffon the resort is friendly. Only thing is disapointing is a transfer. If you do not want use seaplane which they offer and wnat to get there by speed boat, stuff turns on DUMB mode, like talking to robots. Not even suggestion from they side. Not a customer oriented approach. Was able to manage trasfer myself. I do not ask to provide alternative but at least they could help with an advice Huge minus for that!!!!! Water villas are beautifull and well located , however maintenance issue in resort , we had to get Fan and AC repaired of our water villa. No Events and entertainment , DJ was organized after 9. Although the view is serene and very calm place. The resort was not prepared for the New Year season; staff were rude and impolite; rooms were not cleaned properly; food took a long time to be served and choice of food was limited. Red wine was not stored correctly and tasted like Vinegar. Overall absolutely disappointing for a family holiday. I would not recommend it and would never go back. Now the resort pros We arrived and received a lovely welcome drink. We stayed in the over water bungalow room and it was awsome. Half board basis was perfect and the staff were superb especially Mohammad Jewel and Yaseen in the restaurant. The buffet was delicious and everyday was a different themed buffet. The resort is small but is a gem. The cons.. The shower needed to be on 10mins to get warm. I went to Maldives Medhufushi island resort for honeymoon. It is heaven on earth. Simply loved the place. The ambience is picturesque , rooms are spacious and beautiful , good variety of food for both veg and non veg, all facilities are available though it is far from the Male city. Very friendly staffs and hospitality is excellent. Its our second home. It is a must stay resort. We will visit again soon. This hotel needs updating but the Inland is great. It is a pleasure to see your review and hope you had a good time at Medufushi! We agree that some parts of the resort! Management is working on that and we have already finished roofing in the public areas including the restaurants. Indeed we are working on the renovations while managing all the other services! We surely hope you will return once more to experience our resort! Medhufushi sits at a beautiful island. The seagrass on the beach as mentioned by others didnt bother us as it was nature afterall. Upon reaching we were disappointed by the fact they forgotten about our private dinner for our wedding anniversary and birthday which i pre-arranged and was confirmed few days before heading over. We were told they will replace one for us on the 1st Jan which they did not as well. Most of the staff are friendly, working n trying very hard but u can tell they are obviously overworked and sleep deprived. They get forgetful about things, so we have to keep reminding them the same thing over which wasnt very pleasing n we have seen check out luggages handled by the staff fell into the waters. I travelled around alot, stayed in very basic dive hostels to 4,5 stars luxurious resorts n Medhufushi has the worse managements ever. Try other resorts, Medhufushi is definately not worth the price. Best regards. Police investigation taken but no actions done. I lost my room key in my room, hotel charges 60USD for just a normal key. No invoice given. Very disappointed. Will not visit this resort again. Hotel promised to do house keeping twice daily but none until i need to make a request to ask for house keeping. Bad service. In room aircon water dripping. Complained but no repair action. Waiting time 1 hour twenty for a lunch served totally cold and partly so bad you cant eat. Food is transported 70 mtr from the kitchen in the buffet restaurant. Because sea plane USD for two to get there and back this place highly overpriced. Staff does nothing. Room ameneties not replaced some days. Compared to other resorts very untidy und staff are not informed by reception about offers. A place to avoid!! Loved this place Peaceful, Friendly staff and Romantic atmosphere. Highly recommend for honey moon trip. Few things need to be improvement as follow 1. Bathtub in room seems to be a bit dirty needs to clean again by myself before use. I loved that it was so peaceful and relaxing until our last two days, for a Chinese family came with about ten kids and was running around the pool and yelling while putting live crabs in the pool after pool hours and stepping on them 13 July The food was good on the buffet. The first four days was awesome. The staff was very nice and they took excellent care of us especially Humeydh our waiter and Hashim the pool guy. They made our stay feel like home. Yameen in reception was nice too, he was our tour guide on Island hopping but it was waste of money I think. Raya in guest relation office ensured we had all we needed. Mudhefushi resorts is to pricey guess all resorts in maldives are. I could just be in paradise somewhere in the Philippines or Thailand for a much cheaper price and still have the beautiful island water. Friendly staffs. Rental of snorkels were easy. Everythn was awesum from food to cleanliness to staff to activities availabe except for the resort is located far from Male airport The seaplane transfer was expensive and borin after a while Greeted by friendly staff upon arrival. Very short waiting time for our villa to be ready. Moslem guide us through our rooms n present us with a complimentary cake. Unfortunately the late afternoon all the way to the nx morn there was a heavy storm n we couldnt really enjoy the wonderful view fr the first day. Buffet is moderate. They changed the food menu everyday. Overall, im satisfied with my stay at medhufushi. Medhufushi water villa is highly recommended fr all honeymooners. My group was on the Beach Villa half board package, which provides for breakfast and dinner. Upon touching down the seaplane, we were given cooling towels, a welcome drink and briefing at the bar. This was great for us, as the seaplane journey was hot and uncomfortable. A glass bottle of water was complimentary for the room, other than that was chargeable same goes for the Internet - but I believe a proper holiday in Maldives should be Internet-free. No issues boiling water from the tap, we were totally fine for the five days spent in the resort. The meals at the restaurant were done buffet style, with a good focus on local food-fare. We made good use of the complimentary snorkeling trips, and equally enjoyed the sunset fishing and island hopping ones these were chargeable. If you do plan to snorkel, the best would be the morning slots, as the waters are less choppy. Divers and those keen for a guided dive would be glad that Werner Lau is in the resort, however it can be a little pricey. We were satisfied with the guided dive, where a professional instructor took two of us down a reef for 30 minutes. In my opinion, the resort should invest in refurbishing the rooms as they are probably looking a little tired. Being first time visitors to Maldives and what mother nature and the resort could offer, we are very satisfied. Water is strong, not that still. Everything about my vacation was great! The resort was great but more than that the view scenery of this resort was just perfect. The weather sky, the water, etc was different every day. The seaplane ride was a must. It was a bit nosy but nothing unbearable. When we got to the resort, there were several staff members greeting us. We were given a free drink and it was refreshing. At the resort, there were some couples, some families, and some solo travelers. I guess this resort suits for every traveller type. Also, this resort was truly international. There were some Europeans, Asians, Middle Easterners, etc. The staff was very friendly but not annoyingly nice. They knew how to make people feel at home and provide service at excellence. Also, the Internet was not really slow either. Food and drinks were reasonably priced even though stuff at the souvenir shop was a bit expensive - though you are on vacation after all. The room and deck were kept very clean. Will definitely go back. The water villa is really nice and private. Ask for the room with subset view and the view is awesome. Great coral down the villa thought the current is strong. Food is repeating for half board. Internet has to buy but reasonable price. The seaplane is breathtaking at first to see the whole indian ocean but its too far and the plane is small n noisy so you get tired after 30min. Basically u can do all u r supposed to do on a tropical island, of course money as back up. Our main purpose this time is to rest n relax, especially to my wife since last 14months without even one whole night sleep after we had our boy. Btw, caming to Maldives was not our plan until we grabed a cheap budget airline ticket. Back to our topic we did achieved our goal, whole island was quite n not crowded, privacy were well reserved. Lukily u can watch world cup in ur room. The food.. If the food served our stomach well it still considered a successful vacation. Make it clear we r Chinese, and the food I can only say below expectation. Of course I still can find enough variety to fill up my stomach. The view. Yes u can get stunning photos anyway But weather could be an issue, for both taking photo n snorkeling. After all, we still feel miss a little bit to reach our normal impression about Maldives. U know it. In a word, Maldives worth to go once in ur lifetime. Medhufushi, is yet a not bad choice when u do the head aching islands selection when u plan ur trip, considering all thr factors. We spent 5 days here in June and had a very good weather. The staff are very friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay comfortable. Restaurants and bar served fantastic food and cocktails, always fresh and well prepared. Various activities: fishing, snorkeling, islands hoping or just relaxing and watch spectacular sunsets. Gorgeous location with bungalows on the sea, only few steps to swim with turtles, colorful fishes and baby sharks very friendly. Awesome honeymoon at Medhufushi. We were lucky enough to get the sunset water villa at the end of the line There is a fish that lives beneath it named Charlie. He loves beef jerky. Saw turtles, an octopus, so many fish. The water is unbelievably clear at Medhufushi. The buffet was awesome! Our stay was awesome and mind blowing.. Food was great , breakfast and dinner. Water is very expensive, so be aware!
