Thank you ACER support for no help. When I sit the machines side by side and run internet speed tests the Broadcom drivers on the newer Mac with the faster processor and more memory perform at half the speed of the Atheros drivers. I had a major HD failure.
I still had a few problems but i think i have resolved them ie. Enabling the wireless card allows systems to read chipset information and manufacturer name, as well as connect to a network without using an Ethernet cable. I downloaded the drivers from HP web site, but wireless would not work.
