Rayne fights against the Nazis in Europe during World War II, encountering Ekart Brand, a Nazi leader whose target is to inject Adolf Hitler with Rayne's blood in an attempt to transform him into a dhampir and attain immortality.
In the World War II, the Damphir Rayne fights against Nazis and joins the group of resistance led by Nathaniel Gregor. When they attack a train expecting to find weapons, they find people that are going to a concentration camp. Rayne is shot by a soldier and her blood drops on the face of Commandant Ekart Brand. She kills him but he turns into a powerful vampire. Now Rayne needs to fix the problem, otherwise Hitler may achieve her power with the research of Doctor Mangler.
I eagerly anticipated watching this movie, as I do all of Boll's projects, and I must say it was worth the wait, well worth it! Definitely one of Boll's finest projects to date. I won't go into the storyline as I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. Just watching this movie is time well spent if you enjoy an excellent storyline and superb acting. I have always been a huge fan of Natassia Malthe and needless to say, she did not disappoint. She was in top form and as always, it was a pleasure to watch her work. I am also a big fan of Clint Howard as I have followed almost all of his work in his brilliant 48 year acting career. As with Malthe, Howard performed brilliantly. The rest of the cast gave outstanding performances as this movie was a true joy to watch. All around, it was excellent in every aspect and is a movie I will enjoy watching again and again. I would definitely recommend this title to anyone who enjoys excellent films and top notch acting with a world class director in Boll at the helms. Well done!
Sooner or later, Nazis always show up.<br/><br/>Okay, Rayne, the immortal half-vampire (or Dhampir) is living through World War II, and the Nazis are overrunning Europe.<br/><br/>So in the middle of a fight she joins for no good reason, she inadvertently turns a Nazi into a vampire like herself.<br/><br/>And then you have poor Clint Howard (Opies lesser-loved brother) playing an evil Nazi Doctor who wants to make Hitler immortal. I guess that was a better deal for Der Fuhrer than those guys who just want to put his head into a jar, but I digress.<br/><br/>Okay, this is Uwe Boll, and once again, the guy tries to put dialog in between his barely competent action sequences, and fails miserably. Also, the action scenes make not a lick of sense. Like if you just beat the snot out of a Nazi officer, do you REALLY stick around for a massage and girl-on-girl action? I think that these are scenes the director wanted to see, but no one else did.
