Detective Sergeant Tom Brant who is dispatched to take down a serial killer hell bent on killing off the police force one by one. "The Blitz" manages to slip through the grasp of Tom every time, and with the precious lives of his colleagues diminishing one by one, Tom is led to the question: if we can't protect our own, then what good are we?

I had high expectations of this film, given some of the cast names attached to the project and gave me closure when I saw a scene from the journalist meeting the informant, as I was walking past Curtain road back in 2009 when they were filming that scene. <br/><br/>However Jason Statham was playing a variant of Jason Statham as an 80&#39;s cop living in 21st century London. Also Zawe Ashton seemed to be delivering her lines from cue cards written underneath the camera with such an unemotional detached delivery, she could have been doing read-throughs in pre-production as opposed to on set. <br/><br/>I expected more from RSC veterans like Nicky Henson and character actor David Morrisey (mind you he did appear in Basic Instinct 2) and Paddy Considine seemed to be confused whether he was in a serious drama or black comedy. Poorly executed screenplay, poor storyline, so random use of music, meandering plots and some pointless subplots, and while I&#39;m sure they were running on a limited budget, could have been a bit more imaginative with locations. Use the ExCel car park once by all means, but twice? C&#39;mon?! If you can paint up cop cars and borrow a complete building to be a police station you can find more than one car park...guv?<br/><br/>Quite frankly I&#39;ve seen better episodes of The Bill or other procedural police dramas from the US than this motion picture. A missed opportunity.
Jason Statham is known for playing a badass in a lot of his movies and this is no exception although it seemed a bit forced at times in this. The one liners seemed really forced in this as well. This is a detective movie about a badass detective trying to track down a cop serial killer. with elements of badass and balls to the wall. However it wasn&#39;t cool and fast paced as the trailer made it out to be. And the way it showed starts off alright but starts to lose it&#39;s edge and sort of picks up at the end. The villain is not intimidating, clever or cunning but just a loser. Which I guess is a good thing, but there is nothing interesting at all about his character, even his motives are so stupid. It&#39;s alright I guess for a DVD release but it&#39;s nothing special. If it took a bit of a more clever approach it would have been better.<br/><br/>5.8/10
