Asta and Yuno were abandoned together at the same church and have been inseparable since. As children, they promised that they would compete against each other to see who would become the next Emperor Magus. However, as they grew up, some differences between them became plain. Yuno was a genius with magic, with amazing power and control, while Asta could not use magic at all, and tried to make up for his lack by training physically. When they received their Grimoires at age 15, Yuno got a spectacular book with a four-leaf clover (most people receive a three-leaf-clover), while Asta received nothing at all. However, when Yuno was threatened, the truth about Asta's power was revealed, he received a five-leaf clover Grimoire, a "black clover". Now the two friends are heading out in the world, both seeking the same goal.
This anime is just soooo good! I can't understand why people complain so much about it and yet continue watching it. If you like Naruto, one piece, my hero academia etc. then this is surely going to impress you. It is very entertaining and full of action. Go and enjoy it!
Black Clover is a generic manga based anime, but it seems that the target was to squeeze every penny out of the show. Animation is clunky and a 20 minute episode has hardly have over 10 minutes of content. All the episodes from #2 are stretched significantly by pointless flashbacks, angry stares or yelling of the main character and unfortunately everything is amplified for some reason so it stands out more than in other anime. Writing this &quot;review&quot; after 16th episode, but the content could be cut down to 6-8 episodes. <br/><br/>Manga is good despite it is basically a stereotypical representation of shounen gender, but the anime is very lacking.<br/><br/>I had high hopes for this show but so far it&#39;s a disappointment. It&#39;s Ok, it&#39;s not that terrible, but it could have been significantly better.
