After his mother calls to tell him forgot his underwear, Froggy is so exhausted that he climbs back into bed to sleep for the rest of winter.The text is quite funny, especially the unique sounds made as Froggy gets dressed, such as zoop, zup, zat, swit, zum, zip, zut, and zap! I love calling making the mothers voice calling Frrrooggyy! and being cranky Froggy saying Wha-a-a-a-a-t? Kids always laugh when Froggy forgets to put on, and his mother says - UNDERWEAR! Among the items Froggy puts on are socks, boots, hat, scarf, mittens, pants, shirt and underwear. Active verbs are used, such as tug, tie, snapped, buttoned, zipped and pulled. There is lots of repetition, especially in listing clothing, as Froggy dresses and undresses. This works as a beginning/transitional reader.
