Upon learning that his father has been kidnapped, Austin Powers must travel to 1975 and defeat the aptly named villain Goldmember, who is working with Dr. Evil.
Dr. Evil and Mini-Me have somehow escaped from a maximum security prison and the duo team up with Goldmember. Together they formulate a plan for world domination. And this particular scheme requires a large amount of time-travel, and kidnapping Austin Powers' father, England's master spy, Nigel Powers. As Austin chases Dr. Evil, Mini-Me and Goldmember through time, he stops in 1975 to "connect" with an old girlfriend, detective Foxxy Cleopatra, and requests her help to track the villains and save his father.
I have thoroughly enjoyed movies like You&#39;ve got mail, 50 first dates to The Animal and the American Pie series...<br/><br/>However these movies don&#39;t cut across the genres .. <br/><br/>Many believe that the previous editions of Austin Powers r the best .. They might be true. But I am grateful to the God Almighty that I saw this one first!<br/><br/>If this movie can&#39;t make u laugh and feel a complete sense jubilation than something is seriously amiss with you .. Yeah baby<br/><br/>I have seen it a Gazillion times n each n every time it cheers me up. There is perhaps no other movie of whose scene&#39;s I have paused, re winded, seen over n over again ...<br/><br/>N at the end of it you have GOTTA admire this man called Mike Myers... Totally weak, unfunny and disgusting Austin sequel made me realize i actually detested the series.<br/><br/>It relies on racial stereotyping and hatred. Every character is a racial stereotype:<br/><br/>Austin = British<br/><br/>Mustafa = Middle East<br/><br/>Foxxy Cleopatra = African Americans, referencing blaxploitation chick Cleopatra Jones<br/><br/>Fat Bastard = Scottish, as well as over-weight people - how mature<br/><br/>Frau Farbissina = Germans<br/><br/>Fook Yu = Nondescript Asians<br/><br/>As well as many other minor characters - but the strangest, most disgusting blow of all was Goldmember himself: a rollerskating, be-freckled (like a disease covering his skin), orange haired, leotard-wearing man who picks scabs (or dry skin or something) off his body and eats it. He&#39;s supposed to be, what was it, Swedish, danish? Which random culture shall we pick to make a joke of?<br/><br/>So racial misunderstandings do not equal comedy.<br/><br/>But the greatest thing wrong with the third Austin Powers, is its just more of the same. Same dorky unfunny jokes which don&#39;t work as spoof because nobody has seen the original spy movies they were originally supposed to be taking off.<br/><br/>3/10. For the opening sequence of the faux movie with star cameos. Otherwise, monotonous, repetitive and ridiculous stereotyping &quot;comedy.&quot; Plus, Beyonce can not act.
The gifted Myers lets his once and (I hope) future shag king get lost in an elephantine Hollywood franchise. The first time was the charm, baby.
