Are there enough bitcoins for everyone?

Are there enough bitcoins for everyone?

Vladimir Finom

In order to create a sense of scarcity, bitcoin fans promote that supply is limited — just like gold.

That is right: in the future there will only be 21 million bitcoins ever created. This fact is known since the creation of this cryptocurrency.

What they don’t tell you however is that in years bitcoin became partible and you even don’t need to buy a full bitcoin. Instead, you can buy as little as one Satoshi, which is equivalent to 1 / 100,000,000 (one hundred millionth) bitcoins.

In other words, such cryptocurrency as bitcoin has 2,100 Trillion units to trade. Compare that with 5.8 Billion ounces of gold in the world, you realize this supply is not so limited after all.
