Almost 20 Years, The Identity of 2 Bodies of 9/11 Attack Victims Have Just Been Revealed


Nearly 20 years after the 9/11 attacks, medics in New York City are still trying to identify the victims. Recently, officers have identified two victims of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.


Reported by NBC News, Thursday (9/9/2021), the two bodies were the 1,646 and 1,647 victims who were identified. One of them is Dorothy Morgan of Hempstead, New York. The identity of another victim has not been released to the public at the request of the family.


When he died, Morgan was 47 years old.


The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said this was part of an ongoing DNA analysis.


"20 years ago, we made a promise to the families of victims of the World Trade Center to do everything we can at all times to identify their loved ones, and with these two new identifications, we continue to fulfill that sacred responsibility," said Dr. Barbara A. Sampson serving as chief medical examiner.


Until now, there are still many victims of the September 11, 2001 or 9/11 attacks that have not been identified.


Still Many Unidentified

The total number of victims from the 9/11 attacks reached 2,977 people. That number is not only the death toll in the WTC tower, but also when the plane attacked the Pentagon.
