9/11 was a pivotal moment in U.S. history and has had the greatest impact on modern society. In Joseph P. Jones' New York Times article, "Why 9/11 is Important," the Harvard professor of American history states that the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 helped to "create distrust in the fiber of America" (Jones).
