Washington Supreme Court Admission and Practice Rule APR 9 grants a limited license to law students, and Washington Supreme Court APR 6 law clerks, and recent law school graduates to practice law under the supervision of a lawyer who has at least three years of active legal experience. Washington Supreme Court APR 9 Licensed Legal Interns gain valuable supervised practice and courtroom experience through law school legal clinics, public and nonprofit programs, and private firms. From start to finish, this can take two to four weeks, unless a character and fitness issue requires additional investigation or a hearing.
